My Life as a Medium

I was working at a Psychic Festival in Bristol in the 1980s when I had my first mediumship experience. It’s was at the end of the second day and the queue of people waiting for a Tarot reading was not going down.

I was very tired and when the next person sat down, shuffled the cards, and handed them to me, I laid out the spread and my mind went blank. I looked at the cards but for the first time in my life, I could not read them. However, at that moment I started to pick up information from people who had passed over.

From then on, often when I read the cards for people, their deceased friends and relatives came through, including one time when I felt a dog jog my arm to make sure I knew she was there.

I did a mediumship reading for an Italian lady, who spoke no English and her daughter translated for her. I contacted her deceased second husband and the first image I was given was of them arguing together in the kitchen! Not an ideal opener as you can imagine! I explained to the daughter what I was seeing and she laughed out loud and told me that her stepfather ran a restaurant and he and her mother argued kind-heartedly about the preparation of food at home all the time!

I had to stand up and walk around with my hands behind my back, in the way her husband was showing me he used to do, whilst looking at any and everything. This caused some hilarity. The Italian widow said that when she saw her husband walking around like that, she would tell him to pull his big belly in!

Whilst working at a festival in New Zealand, I had a lady come and sit down asking if I could contact her deceased partner. She gave me his name and I felt that I had made contact, however the first clairvoyant picture I had was a piece of pipe. I tried to interpret this symbolically however, nothing I thought felt right, so in then end, I said to my client, ‘I am just being shown a piece of pipe.’ She laughed and said, ‘That’s perfect, he was a pipefitter’.

In the decades that followed, I have been fortunate enough to give my clients proof of survival from those who have passed on and seeing the joy in my their faces, is one of the greatest rewards I can have.

    • Dear Chris Many thanks for your encouraging comments. Very sorry to hear though that you have had challenging family health issues. Had some myself, but over them now. I have asked that you have angelic assistance for help at home. If you are too busy, could Aditi send the media packs out to the radio stations? Look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes Mary x For more information, please visit my website https://marybishop.co.uk/
