The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

I have believed in the power of positive thinking since my 20’s, however, it is easy to forget how to be positive sometimes, when life doesn’t seem to be responding well to us.

A friend of mine recently recommended a book to me called ‘The Power of Your Subconscious Mind’ by Dr Joseph Murphy, which really resonated with me, adding to my belief system of how the Universe can make our lives work.

For example, Dr Murphy explains that within our subconscious mind lies the Infinite Wisdom to supply all that is necessary, revealing everything to us we need to know.

He says it is our right to discover this inner world of thought, feelings and power, of light, love and beauty, as we live in a sea of infinite riches.

The subconscious mind is neutral and reactive to the nature of our thoughts, so what we keep in our conscious minds will be activated by our subconscious minds and will be manifested in our world. Your subconscious mind does not dispute or argue, it will just accept whatever you think or say, rightly or wrongly, as true.

We often don’t realise how negativity can impact our lives. Negative thoughts will produce negative results, i.e. ‘I can’t afford it, and you won’t,’ or ‘I think I am going down with a cold’, and you will!

Every thought is a cause and every condition is an effect.

Therefore, convey what you want to achieve lovingly to your subconscious mind and it will react accordingly, whether it be problem solving or suggestions for good health or anything else that is going to help in your day to day world.

My example of this method working was back in 2020, when my husband and I sat down everyday and asked for what we required in our new home, in the present tense, and gave thanks for receiving it. We are now living in the home which we requested, with everything we asked for and more.

It is important that whatever you require, you put in the present tense i.e. ‘I accept this now‘ because if we say ‘I would like to have…’ it puts your request into the future, where it will remain out of reach.

Dr Murphy suggests an affirmation for anything we are hoping for, whether it is a new job, home or a partner, ‘I believe that the subconscious power that gave me this desire, is now fulfilling it through me.’

He also says ‘If we change our thoughts, we can change our destiny’.
