Why I wrote my latest book, One Life is Not Enough – a powerful story of karma and reincarnation.

My theme throughout all my books is that I believe that we are presented with lessons in life, and to learn and grow from them. I decided to write my third book, One Life is not Enough, as I felt there was still another theme to share with others which was karma and reincarnation.

The story starts in the the racy Versailles Court of Louis XV where the characters live under the rigid etiquette of the day whilst some of them also enjoying situations which lead to karmic conditions which are resolved in the last part of the book when they reincarnate in present day Brighton. In between these two different lives, the characters return to the spiritual realm to assess what has happened and what they need to do when reincarnating.

Karma, as with Newton’s law of action and reaction, is the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions have consequences for good or bad. In other words, a spiritual law of what the old adage says, “You reap what you sow”.

Reincarnation is the only thing that makes sense to me of all the hardships and challenges we have here. I believe we are here for certain experiences in order for our souls to learn and grow. Once our lifetime on Earth is finished, I believe we go back to the spiritual realm and assess what we have achieved; explore what is unresolved and what matters need further work from us, which we do by reincarnating in a new life on Earth.

Here are a couple of excerpts from my book:

Chapter 1:

‘The child was born in the August of 1739 as a violent storm raged in a dark purple sky over the Palace of Versailles. Her first cry coincided with a tremendous bolt of lightning followed immediately by a loud clap of thunder. The midwife’s face creased with concern, it was considered to be a bad omen to give birth during a thunderstorm, as Odette struggled with the labour pains to bring her first child into the world.

They were all blissfully unaware of the havoc this child would bring and the dire events that would follow.’

Chapter 5:

‘Adele didn’t look up at Louis and kept her expression demure. The King looked at her with some surprise as she was normally entertaining and vivacious. ‘Maquise de Volanges, does something ail you today?’ he enquired, calling her by her married name even though she was widowed. ‘Nothing is wrong, Sire’ Adele responded quietly. ‘Oh come, I know you better than that’ he said. ‘I demand you tell me what ails you’.

Maria-Therese listened in horror as she heard Adele embellish and lie about what had actually happened between Sebastian and Sophia. Marie-Therese had heard the servants gossip about the incident in Sophia’s rooms with Adele and Sebastian and therefore knew what really had happened.

Marie-Therese saw the King’s face grow angry at the story and she turned away in distress as she knew that things would not end well for Sebastian with the deceitfulness of her aunt’s story. As the King moved away, she looked at Adele whose face now held a triumphant expression as she knew she had ruined Sebastian’s reputation forever.’

An excellent style, one that keeps you wanting to read more. I am so glad that you have written it. It will be a lesson for many. GC.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I had trouble putting it down. There are deep truths expressed here but very easy to understand. A well written and enjoyable read. Joseph Polansky Diamond Fire magazine.
